Make Limoncello! With the holidays quickly approaching now is the time when I like to start my limoncello. Screw those holiday cookies, this is something that you can make now and enjoy when the season comes. Leave a nice nip for Santa and you may be surprised when he lifts up your tree skirt.
LimoncelloThis Italian liqueur is simple to make.…

This week may start off calm enough but on Thursday the Moon moves in to the sensitive sign of Cancer and is under fire from Pluto in Capricorn along with Saturn and the Sun in Libra. Emotions can run high and if you are PMS-ing or menopausal resist the urge to
run with scissors. A tendency to be a tad bit touchy can persist until Sunday so stock up on duck tape so you can tape your mouth up so you don't give in to the urge to bite…

A married couple in their early 60s was celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant.
Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table. She said, 'For being such an exemplary married couple and for being loving to each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish.'
The wife answered, 'Oh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband
The fairy waved her magic wand and - poof! - two tickets…

I am still smiling and very pleasantly plump from the past four days of my gastronomic gallivant in New York City. I attended the 5th annual International Chef’s Congress, A kitchen without boundaries. This year’s theme was Creativity: Art vs. Craft. As I listened to the debate there was no fear with my consumption as I was eating and drinking everything in sight. Tasting and exploring new concepts of cooking, pairing and plating. Classes and demonstrations given by top chefs such as…

She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates and suitcases.
On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things.
On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining room table by candle-light, put on some soft background music, and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of spring-water.
When she had finished, she went into each and every room and deposited a few half-eaten shrimp…

I can hardly believe that this is the week of the Fall Equinox. It seems like just a week ago that I was pulling out my summer clothes to see what to wear and what to toss. This is also a Full Moon week so get out your
sexy self and start howling. The Full Moon in the sign of Aries promises to bring some drama into your life and with Saturn in opposition to the Moon there is a good chance that…

Tomorrow is my anniversary (bummer, it's also Yom Kippur) and a friend asked me what was the secret to my happy marriage. It was news to me that my marriage is perceived as 'happy,' since my spouse tells me that most of his friends consider me on a par with Attila the Hun. Speaking of 'hun," years ago when we were newly married and with a new baby and our mutual exhaustion made us testier than a pack of cats, we knew a couple who always addressed each other with endearments. Specifically the…

Sometimes I think I need to go to “Portions Control Anonymous.” My Italian heritage combined with working in restaurants and catering yields to an over abundance of food in my refrigerator, especially this time of year when there is exceptional crop. I get very excited at farm stands and can’t help myself when there is such beautiful produce. I’m a vegetable crack head! I gotta have it and can’t wait to get home and play food. Mixing up the colors, tastes and textures like a mad…

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?' The girl said: 'NO!' And the girl lived happily ever-after and went shopping, dancing, drank martinis, always had a clean house, never had to cook, did whatever the hell she wanted, never argued, didn't get fat, traveled more, had many lovers, and all the hot water to herself. She went to the theater, never watched sports, never wore friggin' lacy lingerie that went up her ass, had high self esteem, never yelled, felt and…

It's so UN-RELAXING to wake up, make coffee and 'hammer' your supplements. Pill crushers work but not as good as a hammer when it comes to those GIANT calcium pills. Is anybody sure they are not actually made of real bone?
ANYWAY, swallowing GIANT pills of any kind can work a babe into a sweat if she's afraid of choking.
And goodness knows we don't need extra… Continue

OK-The Mercury Retrograde is over so go ahead and sign all documents that you have made excuses for not signing since Mercury went retrograde in August. Mars is slipping into something more comfortable for its nature, namely the seductive sign of Scorpio and the planet Pluto is finally moving forward so we can begin to initiate the changes that are necessary for positive transformations. Fall is here, Thank God-I don't think that I could take one more day of Mother Earth's…

Ok, I have a new issue. It just popped up today. The issue is muffin top, but not that bulge over the top of my jeans, my low cut jeans, a style I have to wear because I'm short waisted. My waist actually is very tiny and I can still wear belts I bought in high school, but both immediately below and above it, there is a noticeable swell.
This new swell or surge or just plain fat if that's what I dare to call it that is upsetting me now is boob bulge. I have been noting for…

It's A Little Over A Month Now That I Lost My Mother ...And Lost My Brains. A Babe Needs Her Brains. Besides lots of catatonic lying on my couch in silence, I've watched helplessly as my life, and the remnants of my mothers life, have been piling up around me. And I do mean PILING UP.
Heavy sigh.… Continue

Slice some down and spin them around. One sip of this delight will put you in a peachy mood. Just as the old saying goes, “Life is just peachy!” I was wondering where that saying came from and was searching the web for an answer. As I am writing this I am also drinking the photo, so on second thought… screw the definition. My family has their own definition of a peach, so why ruin a fond childhood memory. The word “peach” always made us laugh… which was how this drink got its name. If…

One morning, the husband returns the boat to their lakeside cottage after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap.
Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out.
She motors out a short distance, anchors, puts her feet up, and begins to read her book.
The peace and solitude are magnificent.
Along comes a Fish and Game Warden in his boat..
He pulls up alongside the woman and says, 'Good morning,…
