Rather than feature the video showing Cyndi Lauper singing the wrong words to the National Anthem recently, which I'm certain she already feels bad enough about, I chose to showcase the video of this talented babe that became an anthem in it's own right for girls everywhere and has made us all smile for so many years!
"Time After Time" a babe will forget a line or two even if she tries hard never to show her "True Colors". Figures though it would happen on a "Night To Remember' leaving Cyndi Lauper to fret all through the night about flubbing the National Anthem at the U.S. Open Tennis. But hey 'Sisters Of Avalon" and all us Babe Sisters forgive and forget (quickly).
Trust us we know this happens.
Fact is "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and if it means we screw up once in awhile SO WHAT! We didn't mean it.
Love ya Cyndi from all the babes here at Still A Babe ! You still "Shine"! AND You're Still A Babe!
BTW. This video for "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" made Lauper an MTV staple. The video ran constantly on MTV and featured the late professional wrestling manager "Captain" Lou Albano as Lauper's father, and her real-life mother, Catrine, as her mother. Also in the video are her attorney, her manager and her brother, Butch. It won the first-ever award for Best Female Video at the 1984 MTV Video Music Awards.
Little Known Fact About 'Captain' Lou Albano. He and his Mom Eleanor lived in my father's family house in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. for while and Captain Lou's mother Eleanor was a midwife to my grandmother. My Aunt Eleanor is named after her!
