A long time ago, my mother --and years later, a favored facialist --informed me that cleansing my face with a wash cloth was one of the better things I could do for my skin. “A little gentle exfoliation with a soft cloth,” has been my mantra for years. Now the latest addition to a line of products created for the OLAY ProX series has ramped up my cleansing routine with a facial cleansing tool that not only makes face washing more fun, but leaves your skin as glowing as though you’ve had a trip to the spa.
The tool, which is cute, and fits in the palm of your hand, runs on batteries and is waterproofed enough that you can take it into the shower, although I leave mine on the sink. The first step is dampening the brush head, which I do with water straight from the tap. The directions advise only cleansing with water, but my preference is to play around with cleansing products I already have around, including but not limited to, various vegetable-based soaps. The rotating wet bristles work up a splendid lather, which I enjoy very much.
I used the tool every evening for about 2 minutes at a time, and then splashed cool water on my face to rinse off the froth. The spinning brush head I applied all over my forehead, chin, and cheeks, before honing in on either side of my nostrils, where the blackheads tend to build up.
One week after I began using the cleansing tool, a woman complimented me on my make up. “What kind of foundation do you use?" she inquired. I said “I’m not wearing any make up, other than lipstick and a bit of blush,” to which she exclaimed, “Well, your skin looks fabulous!” I think I have to thank Olay for this. Even if it does look like the kind of personal vibrator you'd use on other body parts, this new facial cleansing brush does really work.
