This Mercury In Retrograde Thing Ends Today WHEW!

Lately I am flypaper for psychics and astrologers. I don't know why.  As a result I get informed of things I would not otherwise find out. Like I shouldn't sign a contract while Mercury in Retrograde. OK fine. Is it over yet? I have things to do.

Apparently Mercury Retrograde ends today AUGUST 8th! Thank goodness.

What is Mercury Retrograde?

According to CafeAstrology.com, three, and sometimes four, times a year, the planet Mercury appears to be moving backwards in the sky for a period of approximately 3 weeks. "Appears" is the key word here, because, technically speaking, no planet actually moves backwards in their orbits around the Sun. In fact, they don't even slow down.

(Kinda like me.)

As the planet of communication, Mercury retrograde tends to breed a certain level of confusion.

(Understatement trying to get things done these last few weeks)

Mercury rules our "lower" mind--how we perceive and interpret information that we receive from our environment, and how we relay that information to others. Mercury has rulership over such things as speaking, negotiating, buying and selling, listening, formal contracts, documents, travel, the mail and shipping, and so forth. All of these areas of life are affected when Mercury is functioning in a sluggish state. Decision-making is challenged during Mercury retrograde. Needless to say, it is not advised to sign contracts, engage in important decision-making, or launch a new business.

There is a positive side to Mercury Retrograde. This period is best used for re-organizing and reflecting.

Minor breaks in the mechanical aspects of communication (this happens frequently during this time) can actually re-connect us to other means of communication, such as when there is an unexpected power outage and we're forced off the computer and television, finding different and often satisfying ways to entertain ourselves.

I heard about the mechanical mishaps during Mercury Retrograde and you would not believe how many people have mentioned unusual problems with phones and computers lately.

For example...see this big boat to the right? Belongs to a friend. Expert boater. State of the Art Navigation EXCEPT on the one night this week I was invited aboard.

Started off just fine in daylight. Then on the way back in the moonlit dark - BAM! Computer down! NO NAVIGATION. PITCH DARK. Multiple Noses against the front windshield of the giant boat squinting. My head out the side boat window like a German Shepherd out a car window on a highway...searching for BUOYS. Seriously? I can't see driving at night on a side road. ANYWAY ..home safe albeit at one mile an hour. Chalked it up to Mercury Retrograde!

And TODAY  this MERCURY RETROGRADE THING -  this BACKWARDS PULL -  ENDS!

OK Then - After today - We Can All Roll Again!

And I can now sign some contracts.
