Nationwide we're hoping for good weather tonight so as not to interfere with our personal Fireworks Festivities. Where's the hot spot in your town? Here in NY the big kahuna of displays is of course the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks in NYC. For the first time ever I'm going to see for myself. Threw it on my bucket list last minute.
The theme this year in NYC is "Ignite The Night" (sounds like the holy grail of hot flashes) and right now I'm siting here trying to figure out the best way to get there and if I'm nuts to have agreed to go to a party at the home of some guy my friend knows. ( I heard he's good lookin ) BTW It's 5000% humidity and there might be a thunderstorm or two. (My kinda relaxing looks night.)
The 2012 Macy's fireworks show will feature more than 40,000 shells exploding at a rate of more than 1,500 per minute and fireworks reaching heights of 1,000 feet in the air.
At approximately 9:20 pm there will be a 26-minute display set off from six barges positioned between 18th and 43rd Streets on the Hudson River in NYC.
The trademark Macy's "Golden Mile" fireworks effect, featuring a shower of golden sparks stretching a mile across the river, will be enhanced this year with additional mile-long showers of sparkling red and green.
The "Ignite the Night" theme musical score will feature songs chosen by Macy's Facebook fans -- including Ray Charles' "America the Beautiful," Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A.", Madonna's "Holiday," Whitney Houston's "One Moment in Time," and more.
For a preview of the pyrotechnics, see the photos of the Macy's July 4th fireworks show here.
Have a spectacular 4th wherever you are!
Feel free to send me your own fireworks photos in I'll post them here for the babes viewing pleasure.
Have a Happy & Safe Fourth Of July!
Delusionally Young & Yours,
