Leave it to me to tip toe out of the gate on this project with some
low -key press. LOL
Here's me in NYC's Central Park with fabulous
HLN TV "Morning Express" star Robin Meade,
(best teeth I ever saw ) and three cool camera peeps taping an upcoming feature for StillABabe.com.
To prove I not only talk the talk,
but walk the walk when it comes to 'celebrating imperfections'...here's the back story.
Glancing at this photo, you might assume I spent a lot of time trying to look - together. Fact is, my mom took very ill, and I've had no time for anything for weeks involving my looks, not even a manicure (
which you think I could figure out before a national television taping) Nope.
No new outfit either. I shopped in my closet the night before (
dark sport). That jacket is 1/2 of an outfit bought years ago when zippers were in and now they're back. Yeah! The straight black pants which 'fit' (
what a concept) are 'classics' too (
understatement).
To 'channel' spring, I added my $12.00 long pink
H&M tank top (love it) that dropped just below the jacket and broke up the all black look. I felt I was on a roll.
Matched the pretty sheer pink floral scarf I've had since the Flintstone era, and threw on my good black suede shoes with the funky caramel color heel that happened to match a swish of color in the scarf ,which also happened to match the dangling beads on my favorite new drop earrings I bought at the stationery store for $2.99.
I polished my own nails with
L'Oreal Paris Pearly Whites, and prayed the other half of my pearly white tooth that broke off on a hard taco the night before, didn't fall out in the middle of speaking on camera. (
couldn't swing the dentist between wake up and pick up)
Which brings me to the 'sense of humor' and 'attitude' that sold CNN Special Projects Producer,
Ayesha Tejpar on including me and the wisdom of StillABabe.com as part of an upcoming feature series 'Live Better Now".
The Still A Babe themes that resonated? "No Expiration Date on Sexy!" "Celebrating Imperfections"
and the power and importance of humor as we age.
It's set to air next month, and when they let me know -I'll let you know!
Hormonally Yours,
Debbie
